I moved to Knoxville 3 years ago, having grown up in ” Almost Heaven”, WV. I am a ” young” 68, and I love the wide range of outdoor activities in this area!
My first visit to Knoxville was to the 1982 World’s Fair. Knoxville has come a long way!
I loved growing up in the 60’s, with the greatest music and laid- back attitude.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren, most live out of this area. My mom is 93, and is back in WV, sharp as a tack!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I graduated from WVU and Wheeling Jesuit University. I have been a nurse for 47 years, and was a Licensed Social worker for many of those years. My claim to fame is that I was a Head Nurse for the C8 Health Project, the largest health study of its kind ever done. What I most love about my work is the joy of comforting and caring for others.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I don’t know many restaurants here, but I’d have to say Lakeside Tavern.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived here almost 3 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
A patient I met ,who had a very interesting background and talent.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Maldives, because of the idyllic setting!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Movies: “Meatballs” and “Foul Play”. TV show: ID TV.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
” Do it now, don’t wait, life goes FAST!”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Return to central coast, CA, and take more wine tours.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
Temptations, of course!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
I have not been here long enough to answer this.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Bill Murray, because he is funny and down to earth. We would eat at Lakeside Tavern.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I like Market Square, because it is so alive and has such a great variety of sights, sounds and food!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In 5 years I hope to be a ” young” 73!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I like to throw my javelin, and I will be hang gliding this Spring.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Pacific Coast Highway

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
May. Memorial Day. Best single day: Jan.2, sigh and relax!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
The “Eagles” concert I attended last year.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My mom!

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Sandalwood and Patchouli
