Karli Kay Creekmore

I moved with my family in 2005 from Michigan, and let me tell you, I am sure glad we did. If you know anything about Michigan, you know how brutal the winters are. To say I hate the cold weather is an enormous understatement. I remember, as a little girl, walking down our long driveway to wait for the bus, with snow up past my knees. That was certainly not my favorite. I knew in my soul I was destined to live somewhere warmer. I was right because that landed my family and me here in East Tennessee.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am a licensed P&C insurance agent with the Kris Ammons State Farm Agency here in South Knoxville. I absolutely love what I do just because I genuinely believe that I can make a difference in the lives of others and in this community. I get the privilege to help many people secure themselves and their livelihoods efficiently and with their best interest in mind.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Central Flats & Taps for fun cocktails and Flatbreads; Balter Beerworks, for scratch made cuisines that are made daily with the freshest ingredients; & Nama for Sushi

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have worked in the Knoxville area since 2017 and do not plan to work or live anywhere else. I love this community

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
It is truly tough to just pick one person, however, there is one person in particular that has had a positive impact on my life recently, and that is Dusty Foust co-owner/manager of the “Fun with Friends”. His passion for bringing new people together through this social group has been inspiring. We all know how much anxiety can be involved when entering a new environment or even the difficulties of meeting new people and making new friends can be. Fun with Friends has helped not only myself but many others build friendships in a safe and welcoming environment

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Iceland for sure once in June, to witness the breathtaking summer solstice, and then again sometime between September through April to see the Northern Lights.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
This is a tough question to answer just because I enjoy ALOT of different movies and TV Shows. My favorite movie I would have to say is Pride and Prejudice (2005 film).

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Take time to know yourself. Knowing who you are allows you to live your life with purpose and meaning.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would absolutely love to take a hot air balloon ride. Just the thought of being in the sky, like a bird, above the clouds, in silence, enjoying the landscape and the moment is something that should be experienced at least once.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
Luke Combs; I have seen him three times and even drove all the way to the State fair in Delaware one time to see him.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Ye Olde Steakhouse. Which has been in business for over 4 decades and has been family operated and owned still to this day!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Dolly Parton just because I admire her backstory as well as her ability to maintain a grateful disposition while she stands up for things she believes in. I honestly could say lunch would not be a long enough time to get to sit and talk to her but where I would choose to do lunch would be at a small diner like Pete’s.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Hospitality, after all we are the volunteer state.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself excelling in whatever moment I am in.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
That I am shy. If I am put into a new environment I can become very introverted.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
I have not been to many places and hope to change that one day, however, one place I have found beauty in was the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. So much history, culture, and cool architecture makes this city so beautiful and fun to visit.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
I would have to say June is my favorite month just because I LOVE summer and all the activities that come along with it. One of my most favorite things to do during the summer is being out on the lake just enjoying the sun.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
I would rate potatoes a 10 out of 10 because they are not only yummy but super versatile LOL

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
I would have to say that my greatest inspiration comes from my parents who always taught me to stay focused and goal oriented, no matter the obstacles that come my way

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Coffee & Bacon Best way to start ANY day!

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Home is where your “family” is.
